My career in taxes started in 2002 when I discovered at the end of the year that I had business income but I had no idea I had to file a business return. Dealing with that tax return over the next four years—and the resulting bill of thousands of dollars—was my first and most expensive education in taxes. Once that was completely resolved (a few years and A LOT of tears later), I realized I actually loved taxes and sought to help others who found themselves in the same boat. With nearly two decades of experience in tax, I have found I love supporting those in predicaments AND those in growth and abundance.

I co-owned and ran my previous firm, Artemis Tax, for 9 years. After a period of rest, I founded Death Love & Taxes in Portland, OR, to continue in my love for tax work, and for those who need tender, empathetic help in navigating their own tax worlds.

These days, when I’m not nerding out about complex tax planning problems, I’m running around after my kids, scouring thrift shops for decorative plates, looking for places with good nachos, or dreaming about Palm Springs vacations with my girlfriend.
